I have always been passionate about providing a Biblical education and worldview for children in diverse settings. After spending much time in prayer, and learning of the many ways this school serves the community, I knew PTCS was a school I wanted to be a part of. How has working here changed you? I have learned how to be more disciplined and a better planner. I have also learned the importance of flexibility and patience as many unexpected things can happen in a day! What are your favorite office moments? Conversations with students! I love talking with students during their free time, subbing for a class, or walking a student to the office or class. They often say things that are hilarious, deep, or unexpected. One of my favorite things is when I am talking to a student and they bring up a point I taught in Chapel months ago that I wouldn't expect them to remember and hear how their knowledge of the Lord has grown.

He has over 20 years of experience in education (elementary, special education, alternative programs, secondary, college, and administration). Dr. Rucker is passionate about education and has completed a PhD. in Education from Seton Hall University (New Jersey). As a former parent of Pui Tak Christian School, Dr. Rucker knows the PTCS culture very well and is committed to the PTCS community.

Why did you come to work at PTCS? I have chosen to work at Pui Tak Christian School because of its clear vision to serve and equip children for success in all areas of life. I deeply value the school’s commitment to nurturing students not only in their academic growth, but also in their spiritual development and character formation, grounded in Christ-centered principles. What do you enjoy most about teaching ? I enjoy helping students with homework and Bible studies, and I find great joy in sharing God’s love and faithfulness through examples from Scripture. What are your favorite moments with students? My favorite moments with students are during playful and interactive times, like dodgeball in gym class, where I often end up alone being chased by all the children—it’s always full of laughter and energy. I also love when they ask me silly riddles and enjoy seeing their excitement when I don’t know the answer. These moments, big or small, create joyful memories and strengthen the bond I share with them.

He is passionate about education and serving those in need in the name of Christ, and is excited to continue doing so with PTCS.
