Employee Classifications
Employees are classified based on job descriptions, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), regular or temporary status of their employment, hours worked, and other applicable laws.
- Regular Salaried Full-Time Employee: A salaried employee who is normally scheduled to work at least thirty (30) hours per work week. This employee is eligible for insurance (health,dental and life), retirement and paid time off (vacation, personal and sick day) benefits.
- Regular Hourly Full-Time Employee: An hourly employee who is normally scheduled towork at least thirty (30) hours per work week. This employee is eligible for insurance (health,dental and life) and retirement benefits but not paid time off.
- Regular Part-Time Employee: An hourly employee who is normally scheduled to work lessthan thirty (30) hours per workweek. This employee is eligible for retirement benefits but notinsurance nor paid time off.
- Expected specified period of time, usually not to exceed six (6) months, and subject to employment at will status. This employee is not eligible for insurance, retirement or paid time off.Temporary Employee: An employee who is hired on a full-time or part-time basis for an expected specified period of time, usually not to exceed six (6) months, and subject to employment at will status. This employee is not eligible for insurance, retirement or paid time off.
Background Check
All employees must comply with various types of background checks (criminal, child abuse and
neglect, sex offender and fingerprinting) required by Pui Tak Center or by its programs. These
background checks may be conducted during the hiring process and periodically as Pui Tak
Center management deems appropriate. The results of these checks will remain confidential.
