Introduction
Pui Tak Christian School is a unique Christian preschool and elementary
school in the heart of Chicago’s Chinatown. We started as a preschool in 1953
and expansion to 8th grade began in 2001. Pui Tak Christian School is a member
of the Association of Christian Schools International and is registered with the
Illinois State Board of Education as a nonpublic or private, elementary school.
Our preschool for 3 and 4 years old is licensed by the City of Chicago and the
Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Character Development
Our name “Pui Tak” literally means to build character or to cultivate
virtue. It is our mission to create an educational environment that encourages
students to develop exceptional character traits and admirable social skills. In
addition, our curriculum is designed to provide quality academics and promote
creativity to prepare students as life long learners.
Small Class Size
One of the advantages of Pui Tak Christian School is our commitment to small
class size. We keep class size to no more than 18 students per elementary room.
Smaller classes enable our teachers to give students more one-on-one attention,
nurturing, and encouragement to learn at their own pace. Also, small classes
allow teachers to have a better sense of who your child is, and what his or her
specific strengths and limitations are. Your child will also have more
opportunities to speak up and participate in class discussions.
Our Teachers
Pui Tak Christian School is very selective about whom we place in front of
our students, and we choose educators with experience and training specific to
the area they are teaching. Students at Pui Tak Christian School have more
opportunities than many schools to form relationships with their teachers, which
can lead them to greater academic success. In addition, there are more
opportunities for parent involvement and access to teachers and administrators.
God made us as whole beings. Each of us has physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. In order to develop to our fullest potential, we need to be trained in all of these areas. Pui Tak Christian School is a school that seeks to educate the whole child and meet their needs as human beings.
